FreeTranslation Platinum Club User Guide

Logging in to the FreeTranslation Platinum Club

The first time you want to login to the Platinum Club, you can click here to login to your account. Alternatively, you can go directly to the Platinum Club home page at http://platinum.freetranslation.com/. (Add the Platinum Club to your favourites now!) If you are not automatically logged in, click "Your Account" and enter your email address and password you gave when subscribing.

If you check the "Remember Me" box when logging in, you will be automatically logged in to the Platinum Club on future visits from the same PC (unless you delete your cookies).

You can only login to the FreeTranslation Platinum Club website from one browser window at a time. When a Platinum Club account is in use, that account is blocked to anybody else who may be trying to access the Platinum Club website at the same time using that account. If you give your email address and password away and somebody else is using it, you will not be able to gain access to the Platinum Club. It is in your interest not to give your account information to anybody else.

Using the FreeTranslation Platinum Club features

  1. You will be automatically allowed to translate up to the text translation limit of 10,000 words when you are logged in to the Platinum Club area.

  2. You can select one of the following types of text from a drop down menu:

    • Standard
      This will give you the same translation your get from FreeTranslation.com

    • Personal / Informal
      This will provide a translation in the personal/informal mode of speech for the target language you select.

    • Business / Formal
      This will combine the business dictionary with the formal mode of speech for the target language you select.

  3. You can also select "Show Advanced Translation Options" to customize the way a translation is performed. When you choose this option you will be able to:

    • Select specialized dictionaries

    • Use informal translations

    • Choose NOT to translate words with Initial Capitals
      (Selecting this option will not translate words with initial capital letters unless they are in the dictionary as proper nouns. This rule only applies to words within a sentence, not the first word of a sentence or a single word.)

    • Choose NOT to translate words and phrases in ALL CAPITALS
      (Selecting this option will not translate words and phrases in all capital letters. This rule only applies to words within a sentence, not the first word of a sentence or a single word.)

  4. Fluid link following for website translations will be automatically enabled when using the Platinum Club Web Translator.

  5. To use the email facility you must be logged in. To login to your account go to: https://secure.freetranslation.com/account/. If you use the "Remember me" facility when you login, you will not need to login to the Platinum Club again. Once you have carried out a translation, click the "Click here to email this translation to yourself or friends..." button.

Claiming your discounts and special offers

You must be logged in to the Platinum Club to claim your discounts or special offers.

  1. To take advantage of the US$5 discount for SDLDesktop Translator, SDLClipboard Translator or SDLChat Translator, follow the links from the Platinum Club home page or "Your Account".

  2. If you are an SDLDesktop Translator subscriber or SDLClipboard Translator, your daily translation limit will automatically be increased to 100 per day. (Note: You must have used the same email address and password when subscribing to each service for this feature to be activated.)

  3. To take advantage of the 10% off your first Click2Translate order, simply click the Click2Translate link on the Platinum Club home page.
